AbstrakThe G20 will meet for its thirteenth summit at the end of 2018. This article contextualises the G20 within a changing global political econ omy and examines challenges and changes: the rise of China, non-state and trans-state actors, new regionalisms, environmental and climate change, new technologies and transnational crime. The G20 has limited room for manoeuvre, but informed and challenged by and about these trends, it may yet find a way forward.
